The ‘Shopped’ project,
was a project involving a village shop and a Gallery. Produce from
the shop was cast into bronze, and placed back on the shelves. Other
produce was transferred from the shop to the gallery to exhibit as
art . The idea was to look at the appropriateness of the selling
context, and to see how changing the material of an object can effect
the way its perceived. Yoxford village school was also involved through
workshops and the creation of a sculpture garden, made from the amounts
of produce sold in the shop in a week of trading.
This project was funded by the Arts Council.
